Philosophers Awarded $1 Million Prizes for Work in Bioethics and History of Science
Lorraine Daston (Max Planck Institute), Ezekiel Emanuel (University of Pennsylvania), Jonathan Glover (Kings College London), Evelyn Fox Keller (MIT), Simon Schaffer (Cambridge), and Mary Warnock (Oxford) are each winners of the 2018 Dan David Prizes, an international award endowed by the Dan David Foundation.
Berdini Wins APA’s 2018 Journal of Value Inquiry Prize
Federica Berdini has won the American Philosophical Association’s 2018Â Journal of Value Inquiry prize. The prize goes to the author of the “best unpublished, article-length work in philosophy by a non-academically affiliated philosopher.” (more…)

Hamburg’s Lessing Prize Winner Announced
Every four years, the city of Hamburg, Germany awards a prize, named for Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, to honor achievements in German culture. This year’s winner of the Lessing Prize is Juliane Rebentisch, professor of philosophy and art history at Offenbach University of Art and Design (Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main).
