Free Online NYU Event to Bring Philosophy to High School Students

The Annual High School Philosophy Conference @ NYU, a free, online event aimed at introducing high school students to philosophy and motivating them to learn more about it, will be taking place on September 18th.

The event includes presentations by philosophy professors, graduate and undergraduate student panels about being a philosophy student, and breakout rooms with philosophy outreach organizations. It will take place over Zoom.

The organizers write:

Our goal at this year’s pre-college conference is to engage the youth in philosophy and help them realize the subject’s importance. We want to shift the perception that philosophy is an “old” field of study, and help students understand that it is a subject that can be applied to the real world and one’s daily life.

You can find out more details about the conference here and students may register for it here.
