Recent Philosophy Prizes
Award news from the Lauener Foundation for Analytic Philosophy and the American Philosophical Association and Marc Sanders Foundation:
- The Lauener Foundation for Analytic Philosophy, named for Swiss philosopher Henri Lauener, awards two biennial prizes. The 2016 prize for “Outstanding Oeuvre in Analytical Philosophy” was awarded to T. M. Scanlon (Harvard). The 2016 “Up-and-Coming Philosopher” prize was awarded to Susanne Mantel (Saarlandes). An official awards ceremony will take place in Bern on September 1st.
- The American Philosophical Association (APA) and the Marc Sanders Foundation have awarded the 2016 Sanders Book Prize to Berislav Marušić (Brandeis University) for his book, Evidence and Agency (OUP). The prize is awarded to the “best book in philosophy of mind, metaphysics, or epistemology that engages the analytic tradition published in English in the previous five-year period” and comes with a $7000 prize.
