News for & about the philosophy profession

The Philosophy Blogosphere in 2025

What philosophy blogs are active in 2025?

Below is a list of philosophy blogs and blog-newsletters, mostly limited to ones that have been updated at least once in the past month. I’m sure I’ve missed some. And some active blogs may have been on a brief hiatus and so unfairly excluded by the “one month” update exclusion. So if you have an active philosophy blog that should be on this list, let me know in the comments, and I’ll add it to the list.

Note: if your blog’s web address changes (for example, owing to the shutdown of Typepad) you can request to have the link to your blog updated on this list, either in the comments or via email.

It straddles the line between blog and journal, but it might be worth mentioning SERRC.

I am learning the difference between Substacks and blogs? I like being able to preview blogs without subscribing via email- is there a way to do that on Substack?

You can subscribe to the RSS feed through an RSS reader, like NetNewsWire (free on MacOS), or your preferred app. https://support.substack.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038239391-Is-there-an-RSS-feed-for-my-publication

You can click “No Thanks” on the substack’s landing page; it is typically below the subscribe box.

I was blogging every Sunday until Typepad announced its death about a month ago. I guess I’ll start again after I’ve gotten around to setting up in a new place. I’ve generally posted links to my posts on BSKY.

We’ve been inactive for the past month (on summer hiatus) but our Fall 2025 season starts back up on the 30th.

Oy! What an embarrassing omission. Sorry about that. I’ll update the list later today.

Victor is doing cool stuff over on https://substack.com/@victorkumar/posts.

I launched a Substack in the summer, then had travel and an iatrogenic eye injury that has made it difficult to read and write, but I swear my public philosophy blog is also (soon again going to be) active, too: https://substack.com/@billvanderburgh/posts.

Thanks. Please include https://toolateforthegods.com/ From a Heideggerian perspective I mostly concentrate on the intersection of philosophy and quantum physics, but also some atheism.

For anyone on Mastodon or Bluesky, I have a bot that checks rss feeds of blogs and posts alerts about updates. I have just updated the list to match Justin’s collection above. The bot lives here:

Mastodon:@[email protected]
Bluesky: @philosophyblogs.zirk.us.ap.brid.gy

(The bot broke down in July, so there’s a bit of a gap, but now it should be working again.)
