Four Philosophers Make Vox’s “Future Perfect 50” List
Vox publishes an annual list of fifty “thinkers, innovators, and changemakers who are working to make the future a better place.” This year’s edition includes four philosophers.

Jonathan Birch, C. This Nguyen, Jeff Sebo, and Shannon Vallor
They are: Jonathan Birch (London School of Economics), C. Thi Nguyen (University of Utah), Jeff Sebo (New York University), and Shannon Vallor (University of Edinburgh).
The full list, worth a browse, is here. Profiles of those included on the list are here.
Honorees were recognized in different categories. Nguyen is in “Imagining the Future” category (alongside people like director Christopher Nolan and science fiction author Cixin Liu). Vallor is in the “Aligning on Artificial Intelligence” category. Birch and Sebo are in the “Expanding the Mind” category.
This is the third year Vox has published its “Future Perfect 50” list. Check it out here.
Slightly surprised to see Jonathan Birch on the list for ‘Expanding the Mind’ as he surely ought to be on the list for ‘Animal Rights’; and we might want to claim Alison Gopnik (or part of her) for philosophy.
