Carlos Gray Santana from Utah to U. Penn
Carlos Gray Santana, currently associate professor of philosophy at the University of Utah, will soon be associate professor of philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Santana works mainly in philosophy of science, with an emphasis on environmental science, as well as linguistics. You can learn more about his research here and here.
He takes up his new position at the University of Pennsylvania in July, 2023.

Maybe (but maybe not?) it’s worth noting that this is the first time that the philosophy department at Penn has hired a Penn Philosophy PhD to a tenured or TT position in…I’m not sure how long, but at least more than 25 years. (This is in contrast to the law school, the other place I know best at Penn, that has hired a decent number of Penn Law grads over the years.) This seems like a nice thing for Dr. Santana (and, I’d guess, also the philosophy department at Penn.) My congratulations to them both!Report
