Job Market Mentoring for Women in Philosophy

The Job Candidate Mentoring Program for Women in Philosophy is now accepting requests for mentorship for the 2017-2018 job market season. The program is also in need of more mentors this year.

The program “matches job candidates with junior faculty mentors who have recently been on the market” and provides mentoring and peer support to women job candidates via videoconferencing and online forums. General information about the program is here.

Kristin Primus (UC Berkeley) informs me that women who are interested in being mentored should fill out this form. Preference will be given to job candidates who have not participated in this mentoring program before. Women who would like to serve as mentors should fill out this form. Mentors should currently hold a permanent academic post and have had job market experience at the junior level in the past seven years. The forms should be completed before September 1, 2017.

Job candidates who do not identify as women are encouraged to participate in the Cocoon Mentoring Project.
