Prof. Suspended for Mistreatment of Philosophy Grad Student

Marquette University, based on recommendations from a faculty panel, has imposed a punishment on John McAdams, associate professor of political science at Marquette University, for his mistreatment of philosophy graduate student Cheryl Abbate in the Fall of 2014 (see here and here for background), according to a report from Inside Higher EdFrom the article:

A lawyer for McAdams said that the punishment includes suspension through the fall 2016 semester. But the lawyer also announced that Marquette told McAdams that must admit to his “guilt” within two weeks or he will not get his job back after the suspension.

The lawyer said that McAdams is “highly unlikely” to apologize.
