It’s that time of the year when many colleges and universities are beginning to announce who has received promotion to associate or full professor, or to a named chair or other special position. If you have received a promotion during the 2014-2015 year, or you are in a position to make announcements about who in your department has done so, please list that information below.
Use the following format:

Fordham University has promoted Bryan Frances (PhD Minnesota) to Full Professor. AOS core analytic. Unfortunately, I had to resign my position for personal reasons. I am now job hunting!
Simon Fraser University has recommended Holly Andersen (University of Pittsburgh, HPS) for tenure and promotion to Associate effective Sept.1, 2015. AOS Philosophy of Science.
The Ohio State University has promoted Kevin Scharp (PhD, Pittsburgh) to full professor. AOS: Philosophy of Language, Logic, Metaphysics, Philosophy of Science, History of Analytic Philosophy
Miami University has promoted Brian Domino (PhD, Penn State) to full professor. AOS: ethics.
Harvard University has promoted Selim Berker to Full Professor. AOS: Ethics and Epistemology.
Victoria University of Wellington has promoted Justin Sytsma (PhD Pittsburgh, HPS) to Senior Lecturer. AOS: Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Science.
Bates College has promoted Lauren Ashwell (PhD, MIT) to associate professor. AOS: Metaphysics, Epistemology, and Feminist Philosophy.
Muhlenberg College has promoted Marcia Morgan (PhD, New School for Social Research) to associate professor and director of women’s and gender studies. AOS: 19th and 20th century Continental Philosophy, Feminist Philosophy, Philosophy of Art & Aesthetics.
Binghamton University has promoted Lisa Tessman (PhD, University of Massachusetts, Amherst) to Full Professor. AOS: ethics.
The University of Nottingham has promoted Mark Jago (PhD, University of Nottingham) to Associate Professor–effective August 1st 2015. AOS: philosophical and formal logic, language, metaphysics and philosophy of mind
The University of Kansas has promoted Ben Eggleston and Dale Dorsey to Full Professor. Both are specialists in moral philosophy.
The University of California, San Diego is promoting Saba Bazargan (PhD Rutgers) to Associate Professor with tenure, effective July 1, 2015. AOS: ethics and just war theory.
Marquette University (Milwaukee) has promoted Sebastian Luft to (“full”) Professor. AOS: 19th and 20th Century European Philosophy, Phenomenology, Philosophy of Culture.
Furman University has promoted J. Aaron Simmons to Associate Professor with tenure. AOS: Philosophy of Religion and 19/20th c. European Philosophy.
University of Houston has promoted Christy Mag Uidhir (PhD Rutgers) to Associate with tenure as of Sept. 1st, 2015 (AOS: Philosophy of Art).
University of Notre Dame has promoted Meghan Sullivan (PhD Rutgers) to Associate Professor with tenure. (AOS: Metaphysics).
Georgia State University has promoted Eric Wilson (PhD Emory) to Associate Professor with tenure. AOS: Modern Philosophy (esp. Kant), Ethics and Moral Psychology.

The University of Oklahoma is promoting Sherri Irvin (PhD, Princeton) to Professor. She has also been named Presidential Research Professor and will begin as Co-Director of the Center for Social Justice in August 2015. AOS: Aesthetics and the Philosophy of Art.
Syracuse University has promoted Kara Richardson to Associate Professor with tenure (AOS Medieval, Islamic, and Early Modern) and has promoted Kris McDaniel to Professor (AOS Metaphysics etc.).
Georgia State University has promoted Greg Moore (History and Philosophy, PhD Cambridge) to Associate Professor with tenure. AOS: 19th century German Philosophy (esp. Nietzsche, Herder).
LaGuardia Community College of the City University of New York has promoted Richard Brown (PhD CUNY Grad Center) to Full Professor. AOS: Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Science
Connecticut College has recently promoted Derek Turner (AOS: Philosophy of Biology) to Full Professor and Simon Feldman (AOS: Ethics/Social Philosophy) to Associate Professor.
Georgetown University has promoted Margaret O. Little to (full) professor. AOS: bioethics, meta-ethics.
Northern Illinois University has promoted Jason Hanna (ethics) and Geoff Pynn (epistemology/language) to associate professor with tenure, effective August 16 2015.
Michigan State University has promoted Kyle Whyte to Associate Professor of Philosophy with tenure. He has also been named as the inaugural Timnick Chair in the Humanities.
The University of British Columbia promoted Jonathan Ichikawa (PhD, Rutgers) to Associate Professor with tenure, effective 1 July 2015. AOS: Epistemology.
Carleton College has promoted Daniel Groll (Chicago, ethics, medical ethics) and Jason Decker (MIT, language, epistemology) to associate professor effective Sept 1st. There’s some speculation that the promotions committee thought they were the same person, although there’s debate about who that benefitted more.
UMass Boston promoted Christopher Zurn to full professor. AOS: social and political philosophy
My colleague Jennifer Lackey (who is already a full Professor at Northwestern) has been awarded an endowed chair: the Wayne and Elizabeth Jones Professorship in Philosophy.
The University of North Florida promoted Jonathan Matheson (PhD, Rochester) to Associate Professor with tenure. AOS: Epistemology.
The University of Denver promoted Thomas Nail (PhD, Oregon, Political Philosophy) to Associate Professor with tenure and Sarah Pessin (PhD, Ohio State, Jewish and Medieval Philosophy) to Full Professor, effective Sept. 1st
Gallaudet University has promoted Teresa Blankmeyer Burke (Ph.D. UNM) to Associate Professor with tenure.
Georgetown University has promoted Katherine Withy (PhD Chicago) to associate professor with tenure.
University of Cincinnati has promoted Vanessa Carbonell (PhD Michigan, Ethics) to Associate Professor with tenure.
Stephen Angle and Lori Gruen (who are already Full Professors at Wesleyan) have been appointed endowed chairs: Angle is now the Mansfield Freeman Professor (chair established in 1986); Gruen is now the first woman to hold the William Griffin Professorship (chair established in 1885).
King’s College London promoted Clayton Littlejohn (PhD Nebraska) to Reader, effective September 2015. AOS: Epistemology & Ethical Theory
Vassar College has promoted Jamie Kelly (PhD, Boston University) to associate professor with tenure. AOS: Social and Political Philosophy.
The University of Aberdeen has promoted Luca Moretti (PhD, King’s College London) to Reader, effective from August 2015. AOS: Epistemology & Philosophical Logic.
