Three Philosophers Among New Guggenheim Fellows
The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has announced its new class of fellows, and three philosophers are among them.
They are:
- Alan Baker (Swarthmore College)
- Kate Manne (Cornell University)
- Gina Schouten (Harvard University)

From nearly 5000 applicants, 223 fellows working across 55 disciplines were selected. Philosophers account for approximately 1.3% of the selected fellows.
The fellowships are for 6-12 months, with monetary awards of varying amounts, and are given with no strings attached. The full list of new fellows is here.

Bravo to all and to Alan in particular! Philosophy of math still has legs!
I confess that (selfishly) I am hoping he writes some things about simplicity, just because I think his work on that is marvelous.
