Havstad from Oakland to Utah


Joyce Havstad, currently assistant professor of philosophy at Oakland University, is moving to the Department of Philosophy at the University of Utah, where whe will be associate professor of philosophy. 

Professor Havstad works in philosophy of science, especially biology, chemistry, medicine, and paleontology, as well as in science and technology studies (STS) and ethics and policy matters related to science. Also, she is one of the founders Extinct, a philosophy of paleontology blog, and has done some public philosophy, particularly in regard to comics and games.

She takes up her new position at Utah over the summer.
