Chang from Rutgers to Oxford

Ruth Chang, currently professor of philosophy at Rutgers University, will be taking up a position in the Faculty of Law at Oxford University as a Professor of Jurisprudence.

Professor Chang works on questions of rationality, value, and normativity, and has received popular attention in the past few years for her work on making “hard choices” (see this TED Talk of hers). She refers visitors to her website to a pair of cartoons to illustrate her research interests.

The move, effective January of 2019, marks a return to Oxford for Professor Chang. It was where she earned her Ph.D. in philosophy. She also has a J.D. from Harvard University.
