The American Philosophical Association (APA) has announced the winners of several of its prizes.

The prizes and their winners are:
2026 John Dewey Lectures. ($1000) Three annual lectures, one at each divisional meeting of the APA, given by a prominent and senior (typically retired) philosopher associated with that Division, who is invited to reflect broadly and in an autobiographical spirit on philosophy in America as seen from the perspective of a personal intellectual journey.

2025–2026 Edinburgh Fellowship. The fellowship is at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the University of Edinburgh. “There is no funding associated with this award, but the APA fellow has a private office in the Institute, is a member of the Institute’s lively research community, and has full borrowing rights at Edinburgh University Library”:
Geoffrey Gorham (Macalester College)
2025 Jean Hampton Prize. ($500) The Jean Hampton Prize is awarded biennially to a philosopher at a junior career stage whose paper is accepted for the Pacific Division meeting. The paper must be in some area of philosophy in which Professor Hampton worked, including social and political philosophy, foundations of ethics, normative ethics, the philosophy of law, rational choice theory, feminist theory, Hobbes to Hume, Kant, realism, and pragmatism.
Clara Lingle (New York University), “What’s the Moral Problem with Servility?”
2025 Dr. Martin R. Lebowitz and Eve Lewellis Lebowitz Prize. ($25,000 each) The prize, which is awarded by the Phi Beta Kappa Society (ΦBK) in conjunction with the American Philosophical Association (APA), “is presented to a pair of philosophers who hold contrasting (not necessarily opposing) views of an important philosophical question that is of current interest both to the field and to an educated public audience. The associated Lebowitz symposium is presented annually at an APA divisional meeting. To promote the discipline of philosophy to wider audiences, ΦBK also sponsors a public presentation featuring the prize winners”, according to the APA. The prize also includes a $25,000 honorarium for each winner.

2024 Anthony J. Lisska Prize. ($1000) Sponsored by Denison University in partnership with the American Philosophical Association, the prize honors the legacy of Dr. Anthony J. Lisska (1940–2022), who taught at Denison for fifty-two years. The prize is awarded in recognition of exemplary contributions to the scholarly mission of small liberal arts colleges through accomplishment in both philosophical research and pedagogical achievement.
Dustin Locke (Claremont McKenna College)
2025 Oxford University Press Teaching with Technology Prize. ($2000; $500 for honorable mention) Sponsored by Oxford University Press (OUP), the prize recognizes outstanding use of technology in the teaching of philosophy and philosophical pedagogy by philosophers at a junior career stage.
Alex Richardson (The Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics at DePauw University)

2026 Patrick Romanell Lecture. ($1200 plus travel expenses) The Patrick Romanell Lecture is presented annually at a divisional meeting of the APA on the topic of philosophical naturalism.
