Robert J. Howell, currently professor and chair of philosophy at Southern Methodist University, will be moving to Rice University, where he will be professor of philosophy and chair of the Philosophy Department.

Professor Howell works mainly on philosophical problems related to consciousness (in metaphysics, epistemology, the philosophy of mind, and the philosophy of language). You can learn more about his writings here and here.

He will be taking up his new positions at Rice this July.
