Bengson & Shechtman from Wisconsin to Texas


The Department of Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin is adding John Bengson and Anat Shechtman to its faculty.

John Bengson specializes in epistemology, philosophy of mind, philosophy of action, metaethics, metaphysics, and methodology. Previously at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, his appointment as associate professor at Texas, where he earned his PhD, began this month (though he is currently on leave, completing a Humboldt Fellowship in Berlin; he will be in residence in Austin in time for the Fall 2022 term). Anat Shechtman is associate professor of philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, though she is currently in Berlin on a Humboldt Fellowship. She specializes in early modern philosophy, metaphysics, and the philosophy of mathematics, and is currently at work on a book entitled Ontic Infinity. Her new position as associate professor at Texas will begin in the Fall of 2022. You can learn more about her research at her website.
