Queen Names Philip Pettit a Companion of the Order of Australia


Philip Pettit, distinguished university professor of philosophy at Australian National University and L.S. Rockefeller University Professor of Politics and Human Values at Princeton University, has been named a Companion of the Order of Australia by Queen Elizabeth II.

The Companion of the Order of Australia is currently the highest level of the Order of Australia honor.

Other philosophers to have been named Companions of the Order of Australia include J.J.C. Smart (1990), John Passmore (1992), and Peter Singer (2012).
