“Philosophy Is A Great Major” – A New Site

They told you that philosophy majors don’t get jobs.
They told you that you should practice asking “do you want fries with that?”
They told you philosophy wasn’t about real-world skills.
They were wrong.

So says Philosophy Is A Great Major, a new website about the benefits of majoring in philosophy.

The site has information on skills philosophy majors learn and salaries they earn, some non-economic reasons for studying philosophy,  types of courses, successful philosophy majors, and more. It is the creation of Jack Russell Weinstein, Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Institute for Philosophy in Public Life at the University of North Dakota. He encourages people to use the site “as a tool to show how useful philosophy is.” Check it out.
