Sayre-McCord Becomes New Executive Director of the Marc Sanders Foundation
Geoffrey Sayre-McCord, Morehead-Cain Alumni Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, is the new executive director of the Marc Sanders Foundation (MSF).
MSF is a charitable organization that aims to “stimulate appreciation for philosophy by encouraging, identifying and rewarding innovative programs and excellent research in philosophy.” To that end, it offers a number of generous prizes in many subfields of philosophy and funds a number of philosophical events and programs.
Sayre-McCord founded the Parr Center for Ethics at UNC. He also founded and directs the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics program there. There are more details about his appointment at MSF here.
