Hinchman and Westlund from Wisconsin, Milwaukee to Florida State

Edward Hinchman and Andrea Westlund, both of whom are currently associate professors of philosophy at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, will be joining the Department of Philosophy at Florida State University (FSU) as associate professors.

Professor Hinchman works in epistemology, moral psychology, philosophy of language and mind. Professor Westlund works in ethics, moral psychology, and feminist philosophy. Both of them received their PhDs in philosophy from the University of Michigan.

The FSU Department of Philosophy also informs me that they have also made hires at the junior level.  Michael Bukoski (Ph.D. Arizona), currently a post-doctoral fellow at FSU, will join the department as an Assistant Professor. He works in ethics, metaethics, and political philosophy. Sarah Vincent (Ph.D. Memphis), currently a post-doctoral fellow at the University of North Florida, will join the department as a Teaching Faculty member. She works in applied ethics, philosophy of cognitive science and psychology.

They all will take up their new positions this coming Fall.

While we are quite sad that Andrea and Ted are leaving us, the UWM Philosophy Department will be joined by two new tenure-track professors in autumn 2018: Rachel Goodman (currently assistant professor at Nebraska) and Peter van Elswyk.
